Mrs. Wishy-Washy and More . . .

Thursday, May 31 - Field Trip to Boston/Swan Boats
Cost is $7 per child and $3.50 for chaperones.  Please send in payment at your earliest convenience.  Thank you.

Mrs. Wishy-Washy is a kindergarten favorite.  Acting out the story with animal masks was fun and
entertaining.

We read Lois Ehlerts's book, Planting a Rainbow and we planted a rainbow of our own.  We planted red poppies, orange sunflowers, yellow marigolds, blue morning glories and purple zinnias.    Please send in a shoebox or small box for your child to transport his/her plants home.

The SOARS school wide incentive award has been revealed.

Painted Lady Caterpillars and More . . .

Thursday, May 31 - Swan Boat Field Trip
Please let me know if you would like to chaperone. The cost for students is $7 and the cost for parent chaperones is $3.50.

Recycling Poster - During writing, the children worked on posters stating the importance of recycling.  Check your child's folder for his/her recycling poster and reinforce the importance of recycling.  The children are looking forward to displaying their posters at home.

Ask your child about the painted Lady Caterpillars.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Miss Sacco, Burlington's Literacy Coach, visited our room.  She helped us kick off our personal narrative writing unit.  Here we are in the "thinking" position.

The children are earning SOAR coupons when they demonstrate respect.

What a great way to end the week, singing and dancing with our frog puppets.

Julia Cook and Planting

Author Julia Cook visited FW on Wednesday.

Meet Kirby, Julia Cook's pet chihuahua.

On Friday, we headed out to FW's garden.  Every child planted a pea seed.  Thanks to Mr. D. for helping us plant.
