Persuasive Writing with Miss Sacco and Our Painted Lady Butterflies Were Set Free

Miss Sacco, Burlington's Literacy Coach, visited our room on Thursday and Friday.  We created a persuasive poster on a topic of our choice.  Topics included; Saving Money to Buy a Toy, Be Kind to Your Friend,  Recycling, and much more!

Our Painted Lady Butterflies emerged from their chrysalises and were set free!

Magnetism

A big thank you to Mr. Mussellman for an amazing presentation on magnets.  Now we know that all magnets have a north pole and a south pole, magnets come in many different shapes, and that magnets attract and repel.

May News

Thank you to the PTO for sponsoring a BMX Assembly last Wednesday.

We read Lois Ehlerts's book, Planting a Rainbow and we are planting a rainbow of our own.  We planted red morning glories, orange pumpkins, yellow squash, and next week we will plant purple zinnias and blue forget me nots.  The plants will be sent home the end of next week.   We are collecting shoeboxes, empty tissues boxes or any type of small box to help with transporting the plants home.

More highlights of the week . . .

making shapes with clay,

sing and dancing to Five Green and Speckled Frogs,

and observing painted lady caterpillars.  Thank you to the Science Center!
