FYI - A class list for Valentines will be sent home later this week.

Today Mr. Mussellman visited the K classes.  Mr. M. told us scientists sort animals into two groups, vertebrates and invertebrates. We belong to the vertebrate group because we have a backbone.  He talked to us about the animals we will see at the aquarium.

Important Dates
Monday, January 16 - No School - MLK Day

Friday, January 27 - Fish Day - The children will have the opportunity to visit the K classes for fun fishy activities.  We will create an aquarium in the hallway with all the fishy artwork.  It would be great to have a few parent volunteers to help out on Fish Day from 9:15 - 10:00.  Please let me know if you are available to help out.

Tuesday, January 31 - Aquarium Field Trip - Please let me know if you would like to chaperone.

Today Ms. P. from the science center visited out class and introduced us to LuLu and Myrtle.  LuLu and Myrtle are Eastern Box turtles.  They will remain in our class for the next few weeks.  Our next nonfiction writing activity will be about turtles.
