December 23

Thank you to all who joined us for the kindergarten ballet!  The children worked very hard and were thrilled to dance on stage for family, friends and classmates.  What an accomplishment!

The children thoroughly enjoyed our field trip to The Nutcracker.  We were all anxious to see the battle, Mother Ginger, and Spanish Chocolate.

Bag of Treasures - Yesterday your child brought a bag of treasures.  The children loved the body tracing activity.  Painting and glittering their characters is always a big hit!

Last week we went to the gym for the "battle".

Have a great vacation!  See you on January 4, 2016

Mr. Schersten, FW's technology specialist, came to our room on Tuesday.  He showed us the app, Lightbot.  We had the chance to work on our own.

Field Day, Planting a Rainbow, Calypso Band and More . . .

Field Day is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16.  It's a day of fun outdoor play.  Children should wear comfortable clothing and sneakers to school on that day.

We read Lois Ehlerts's book, Planting a Rainbow and we are planting a rainbow of our own.  We planted red poppies, orange cosmos, yellow sunflowers, green lettuce, blue morning glories and next week we will plant purple bachelor's buttons.  The plants will be sent home next week.  Please send in a shoebox or small box for your child's plants.

Today we enjoyed listening to a calypso band.  Thank you to the PTO for sponsoring great show!

We earned coins for our treasure map.  How did we earn the coins?  The coins were given to us by teachers who observed us following school rules.  All classes at FW are working hard to earn coins.  If all classes reach the goal of earning seven coins, Mrs. McDonald will reward the students with a dunk tank for field day.
